Terrell Dillard, president of Jan-Pro Systems of Greater Cleveland, was the guest speaker at the Christian Business League’s “Faith and Finance” Breakfast on Friday, March 18th at the Greenmont Party Center.
Over 110 business people and entrepreneurs attended as Dillard told the Jan-Pro franchising success story.
Donald Graham, formerly an executive at Fifth Third Bank, introduced Dillard as a highly successful banker during his nine years with Fifth Third. Dillard, as a master licensee, has sold over 200 Jan-Pro franchises with over 500 local clients and $10 million in annual revenue in Northeast Ohio.
Most of his franchise owners are African American.
Jan-Pro has been named the fastest growing franchise in the world by Entrepreneur Magazine for three straight years.
Renowned architect Robert P. Madison received the first Business Trailblazer Tribute presented by the Christian Business League. The Business Trailblazer Tribute recognizes individuals, who are senior in their career, for their outstanding and unique business contributions.
Robert P. Madison opened the first architectural office owned by and an African American Architect in the State of Ohio. Since 1954, his firm has undertaken major design projects both national and international in scope.
Three business leaders presented profiles of their businesses: Tiffany Jordan, Contract Compliance Manager for the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District; Kevin Lassiter of the National African American Insurance Association and Iverson Traylor, owner of the Greenmont Party Center.
Dwayne Dawson, of Bankers Life and Casualty Company, presented the CBL vision which is, “to serve as a Faith Based organization, using a collaborative approach to community-wide economic development and empowerment.”
Christian Business League activities for 2011 will include: the quarterly “Faith and Finance Breakfasts,” presentation of the Business Trailblazer Tribute Award, the Jobs Partnership Ministry, faith based economic empowerment seminars and business networking and mentoring.
Corporate sponsors of the Breakfast included, JumpStart Inc., Jobs Partnership of Cleveland, Cleveland State University, American Family Insurance, Village TV, the Call & Post, the Greenmont Party Center and Thomas Arts.
The Breakfast was videotaped for rebroadcast on Village TV, Time Warner Channel 218. The next “Faith and Finance” Breakfast will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Greenmont Party Center, with Randell McShepard, vice president of Public Affairs at RPM International as the guest speaker.
