He need not make a case to us. He does however have to make his case to independent voters; many of whom still sit on the fence.
The Democrat National Convention is in high gear in Charlotte, North Carolina.
President Barack Obama is already assured his party’s nomination to take on Republican challenger Mitt Romney who received the GOP’s nod last week in Tampa.
This week’s convention for President Obama will be a defining moment in his presidency and will portend how well he will do in the upcoming General Election.
It will be up to the Commander-in-Chief to make his case to Americans that he deserves a second term in office when he addresses the convention on Thursday.
We have no doubt that the president will make a powerful and persuasive speech to delegates in attendance and to countless millions who will be watching on television.
President Obama inherited an economic quagmire when he entered the Oval Office; an economic mess bequeathed by his predecessor. Since that time, the economy has not gotten any better despite the Obama administration’s efforts to jump start America.
It is this defining issue that the president MUST focus on. He must also tell America’s middle class why he deserves four more years to uplift this nation.
It is a foregone conclusion that over 95 percent of Black voters will cast ballots for Mr. Obama as well as unionist across the fruited plain.
But the president will need more than this voter bloc to make a return to the White House.

We know that he can bring this group into the fold.
At the end of the day, it’s up to the president and us to see that he gets a second term.
