The ‘drive-by shootings’ continue to be a stain and mockery

It is no wonder that our urban neighborhoods continue to be cesspools of decay and despair.

Over the weekend, six individuals were mowed down on the Cleveland’s west side in what can only be described as another dumb drive-by shooting.

Residents on Walton Avenue in Cleveland’s Second Police District were treated to flying bullets, mayhem and useless carnage. Luckily, all of the victims survived their wounds.

Unfortunately, Cleveland continues to see our youth commit senseless acts of violence in the name of God knows what.

Of secondary note is that these wannabe gangsters have little regard for their own lives, much less the general public, and we, as tax payers are stuck footing the bill for their hospital stays.

Again, this newspaper goes back to this social issue of family values.

In the majority of cases, these young hooligans come from homes dominated by Black females with no Black male in sight.

There continues to be a high drop out rate among these young thugs. Education is a joke to them, for the most part. Parental and spiritual guidance is virtually non existent. Procreating without benefit of marriage and commitment is standard fare.

It is no wonder that our urban neighborhoods continue to be cesspools of decay and despair.

And until the Black family becomes whole again and spirituality becomes the mainstay of our communities, these senseless acts of violence will continue.

After all, what do they know other than violence and lack of respect for the family, the community and the law?

How pathetic. How sad.
