President Obama’s victory must go through Ohio. We must do our part.
In 2008, this nation elected its first African-American president who inherited two wars and the worst recession since the Great Depression and a soaring unemployment rate.
Wall Street had a financial meltdown that put countless Americans out of work and this nation’s automobile industry teetered on the brink of bankruptcy.
Through it all, President Obama helped to save General Motors and while he was at it brought Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden to justice compliments of Seal Team 6 who dispatched the terrorists with shots to the chest and head.
To be sure, the economy could be better.
No one denies that unemployment, especially among Blacks and Latinos, remain at all time highs.
This is not, however, the time to “throw the baby out with the bathwater.”
The president deserves another term of office.
He can only do it, however, if Black voters across this nation come out in record numbers.
Here is Ohio it is especially true.
The Buckeye State is a bellwether for presidential politics. That’s why Black voters in our large metropolitan areas must flood to the polls in resounding numbers next Tuesday.
You can believe that voters in Central and downstate Ohio will be flocking to the polls or have already cast their ballots for the Republican challenger.
President Obama’s victory must go through Ohio. We must do our part.
