SHAKER HEIGHTS — The Shaker Heights Board of Education invites members of the public to help shape the future of the Shaker schools by providing input regarding the qualities and skills desired in the district’s next superintendent. Current Superintendent Mark Freeman announced in September that he will step down in July after 25 years in the position.
The board has retained the services of Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates (HYA) to assist in conducting a national search for a new superintendent. As part of that process, the board will host two public meetings to solicit input. All residents are welcome. The meetings will be held:
December 13, from 7 – 8 p.m., in the Upper Cafeteria at Shaker Heights High School, 15911 Aldersyde Drive.
December 15, from 9 – 10 a.m., at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building, 3450 Lee Road.
Members of the public may also provide input via an online survey at www.shaker.org/SuperintendentSearch. HYA will collect and analyze the responses. Computers with Internet access are available for public use, free of charge, at the Shaker Heights Public Libraries. The survey is available until December 21, 2012.
