TV Review: ‘Basketball Wives’ – Season 2 Finale

The season finale of “Basketball Wives” ended with a bang. Or maybe I should say a punch! Tammi, ex-wife of professional basketball player Kenny Anderson, goes to blows with Evelyn Lozada, ex-fiancée of professional basketball player Antoine Walker, after Evelyn confesses her 6-month relationship with Tammi’s ex-husband.

Why was Tammi so mad? Because they were still married when Evelyn had this relationship with him, that’s why! OK wait, Evelyn said they were together 6 months, but she did not know that Kenny Anderson was married? Sounds a bit sketchy to me, but if Evelyn claims it, who am I to turn my lips to the side and do a slow eye roll?

Before all the mayhem happened, we watched Evelyn travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to have her first date with her now fiancée, professional football player, Chad Ochocinco.

Until this visit, Evelyn and Chad had been communication through texts and Skype.

Upon arrival in Bengal’s town, Evelyn went to Chad’s loft and they shared some small talk. Mostly Chad stroking his own ego about what he could for Evelyn and make her even “badder” than she already is. After all his talk, they went out to eat and Evelyn questioned Chad about his intentions for the night. It was clear that Evelyn was not trying to be a demure little lady. When they got back to Chad’s loft, Evelyn slipped into the lingerie she had purchased before she left Miami. It’s safe to say, Chad and Evelyn got to know each other much better that night.

When Evelyn returned to Miami, she met up with her “bestie,” Jen, ex-wife of retired basketball player, Eric Williams, and gave details about her trip to see Chad. Jen’s response was less than excited for her friend. She was shocked that Evelyn gave it up on the first night, and had reservations about Evelyn being involved with another athlete.

Later on, Evelyn and Jen met up with Royce Reed, mother of Dwight Howard’s child,

and let her know that they think she is untrustworthy. A ‘mole’ as they put it. Royce lets them know that she is not, and really couldn’t care less what they think.

I can’t wait for the reunion show. Rumor has it; Evelyn and Tammi share some choice words yet again.
