Judith Lynn Lee joins the Call and Post

jlynn_copyFor this civil rights organization, she also represents the Akron Branch as “Voting Delegate,” attending yearly State and National Conventions. She also utilizes her time as a photojournalist, covering stories from NAACP events.


“Lynn,” as she is often referred, was born and raised in Akron and now resides in Norton, Ohio. She is a graduate of The University of Akron where she received a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Mass Media Communication Radio/Television.

She was also active with the university as an on-air personality (DJ Baby Lynn) WZIP 88.1 FM and assistant manager of the station’s promotions department.

Lynn has also been a Television Talk Show Host on “Summit Focus” APS-15 as well as a Children’s Television Program Personality, “Ask Gilby” Show, where she played the role of “Nana.”

As a photo journalist, Lynn has worked over ten years with the Reporter Newspaper in Akron and has now joined the Cleveland Call and Post.

She has had the opportunity to travel abroad writing, photographing, and interviewing as a reporter. She has received great recognition by local newspaper and television stations.

Lynn is the author of a book of motivational poetry titled “Look at me,” published in 1995 by Telcraft Publications. It includes poems of pride, determination and success; of wisdom and the heart.

Her community involvements include being a life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), where she has served as secretary of the Akron, Ohio branch as well as Legal Redress, ACT-SO Coordinator and Youth Advisor.

For this civil rights organization, she also represents the Akron Branch as “Voting Delegate,” attending yearly State and National Conventions. She also utilizes her time as a photojournalist, covering stories from NAACP events.

Lynn is also a motivational speaker with the “Youth Motivational Task Force (YMTF), traveling throughout the Ohio area speaking with youth’s on career incentives. She also speaks at yearly National Congress of Black Women’s (NCBW) “College for Kids,” summer programs.

She has been married to husband Ronnie Lee for 34 years and has two daughters: 29-year old U.S. Army Warrant Officer RaShanda Lee of Ft. Rucker, Alabama and 24-year old D’Shante Lee of Akron, Ohio, and two granddaughters: 2-year old Saharra and 8-month old Aubree.
