ODOT asks drivers to be patient and not drive around the barrels during Friday morning’s commute.
CLEVELAND - Some of the barriers blocking I-90 east exits will come down overnight Thursday, but the Ohio Department of Transportation warns that doesn’t mean the exits are open.
The familiar orange barrels will go up in place of the barriers that block the East 22nd Street and Carnegie Avenue exits until 11 a.m. Sunday when they’ll be open to traffic.
ODOT asks drivers to be patient and not drive around the barrels during Friday morning’s commute.
For people heading to Friday night and Saturday events downtown, ODOT recommended using I-490 and I-77 because I-90 east and west between the two will be shut down to all traffic starting at 8 p.m. Friday. It will reopen by 11 a.m. Sunday as well.
The following ramps also will be closed until Sunday morning:
- West 14th Street ramp to I-90 east
- East 9th Street ramp to I-90 west
- Ontario Street ramp to I-90 west
Check back with the Call & Post for future road openings
If drivers have any questions about closures Friday or over the weekend, they can ask on ODOT’s Innerbelt Facebook page or email to info@innerbelt.org .
