Walmart fire seems suspicious

CLEVELAND - Investigators in Cleveland say a fitting room fire that cleared out a Walmart store is considered suspicious.

Fire department spokesman Larry Gray says store employees using a fire extinguisher put out the small fire, which broke out in a rack of clothing Tuesday morning.

It's reported the store in the Steelyard Commons shopping center just south of downtown was evacuated briefly. Clothing on the rack was heavily damaged, and the fire created a strong smell from plastic hangers that melted.

Gray says investigators will be checking surveillance video for any suspicious activity in that part of the store.

A Walmart worker sustained minor burns from putting out the fire, and a customer inhaled some smoke. Both declined to be taken to the hospital.
