According to a report in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, any further delays in opening will cost millions of dollars in lost revenue affecting local governments, suppliers and more than 3,000 prospective employees who have been hired.
CLEVELAND - We may know today when Cleveland's Horseshoe Casino will finally open.
The State Casino Control Commission will meet at 10 a.m. in Columbus Wednesday morning. It could name a new opening date for Cleveland's Horseshoe Casino which is being built downtown in the old Higbee’s building.
Last month, Rock Ohio Caesars was notified by a consultant firm that the required background checks on the gaming operators and vendors are behind schedule. That pushed back the opening date of the casino from March of this year to possibly June.
Add to that any problems after a portion of the parking garage collapsed last month. No injuries were reported but there's no telling how much that incident could have affected the opening date.
