CLEVELAND - Cleveland police will auction abandoned, forfeited and salvaged cars Saturday, Oct. 1.

The auction will begin at 9 a.m. at the city's Impound Lot No. 2, located at 4300 Bradley Road. Vehicles will be available for inspection one hour before the auction.  At least 60 cars are up for bid, including Cadillac, BMW and Lexus models.

Buyers must put down a 10 percent cash deposit and pay the balance in five days. All sales are final. None of the vehicles come with a warranty or guarantee.

Money generated from the sale of forfeited autos will go to the Law Enforcement Trust Fund (LETF). The LETF is used to buy items including personal body armor, on-board mobile computers for police patrol cars and has funded investigations involving internet crimes against children. Money generated from the sale of abandoned vehicles will go the General Fund.
