Burke_webJudge Burke was the first African-American woman to serve on the Cleveland Municipal Court that is celebrating its 100 Anniversary this year.

 


It was a memorable day for all involved. The President of The Ohio State University Gordan Gee made a visit to the home of Judge Lillian Burke (retired) to hand deliver her degree that was stolen years ago. It was an afternoon of nostalgia for family and friends gathered for the occasion including her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Burke.

Judge Burke was the first African-American woman to serve on the Cleveland Municipal Court that is celebrating its 100 Anniversary this year.

The same day she set up the Lillian Burke Scholarship Foundation to Ohio State University - Cleveland Section
