A six year old child and her mother were shot and killed before the shooter kills himself.

Clevelandpolice are investigating the murders of a woman and child that happened just before11 p.m.Monday night on1718 Hillview Road, according to information released by the police.

Sergeant Sammy Morris said officers were called to a home on reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found 24-year-old Demar Perry, 22-year-old Nakisha Jackson and 6-year-old Kammia Perry dead. Officers found the three bodies outside with gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced all three dead at the scene. These two homicides putClevelandat a total of 51 for the year.

The police think Perry forced both Jackson and Kammia outside the home where he shot them, then turned the gun on himself. It was not clear at press time what Perry’s motive was, but police have noted there were three other people in the home at the time of the shooting and they were not harmed.

A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said “I never knew the man, but I had heard that they had broken up. She was a very nice lady and will be missed. I never know what makes a person act like this. To murder a child like that is just plain old sick.”

Anthony Houston, a concerned resident, stopped and said a small prayer in front of the house. “I pray for the pain that this family must be in,” he said. “This family just lost two members. Not to speak of the pain that the man’s family will have to endure. People often forget that the ones who commit these crimes have family members too. And they suffer because of what their loved ones did. Still, I pray for both families.”
