According to police, the body is a 42-year-old black man and circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.

CLEVELAND - A man’s badly decomposed body was found lying face down in a field on Cleveland’s east side Tuesday afternoon.

Cleveland police said a person walking through a field in the 8200 block of Cedar Avenue spotted the body and called for help. Officers responded at 4:42 p.m.

According to police, the body is a 42-year-old black man and circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.

The body was taken by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

No other details, including the man’s name, have been released yet.
