The opening ceremony will begin June 29th at 3 p.m. at the Afin Gate on sacred grounds at The Kingdom of Oyotunii African Village.
The Kingdom of Oyotunji African Village will host the inaugural Pan-African Grassroots Assembly from June 29 to July 1, 2012 inSheldon,South Carolina. The Assembly is being held in conjunction with HRM Yoruba Assembly Movement.
Clevelandwill be well represented at this Assembly by a number of local priests including H.E. Naan Iyalode, OSUN; Omo Oba Iya Omiyemi and Awo Fasi Irumsewe. Sixteen people will depart forSouth Carolina. Attendees fromMichiganwill travel toClevelandto be part of the caravan.
The Assembly is a Call for Action. It provides an opportunity to incubate unity for the purpose of progressive action for the further development of African people. Over 50 years ago, HRM Oba Adejuyigbe Adefunmi I planned and carried out an African Freedom Day which consisted of a parade on horseback through Central Park in the heart ofHarlem.
Now, 55 years later HRM Oba Adejuyigbae Adefunmi II is regenerating the movement for Pan-African progression. ACTION fueled by groundbreaking UNITY.
The Assembly will convene at the authenticAfricanVillagethat is part ofSouth Carolina.
This weekend long assembly will provide purposeful discussions: think tanks, labs, and workshops in areas of Practical Application of Orisa Worship, Midwifery, Women in Ifa, Reclaiming Yoruba Spirituality, Ancestor Veneration, Ifa Naming Ceremony, Rites of Passage, Homeshooling, and many more. All are based on African Principles.
