Malcolm Lateef Shabazz, 29, the grandson of celebrated civil rights leader Malcolm X, has been arrested by the FBI while traveling to a conference, and his whereabouts are still unknown. Shabazz is the son of Malcolm X’s second daughter, Quibilah. He was reportedly arrested while traveling toTheran,Iranfor the Hollywoodism International Conference. No reason has been given for his arrest, and he is being held in an undisclosed location.

Facebook has refused to remove a picture of a monkey and a White baby, with the caption, “Stop Racism: Black Children and White Children are the same.” The photo that appears on the page has caused serious controversy, leading to a petition on Change.org demanding that Facebook remove the offensive image.

FLORIDA- Conservative commentator Ann Coulter refused to stay on board aMiamitoNew Yorkcommercial flight after learning the pilot was a Black woman. The incident began when Coulter boarded the American Airlines flight and took her first class seat. After a trip to the bathroom, she noticed the pilot was a Black woman and became immediately distraught. According to passengers, at that point Coulter stood at the front of the cabin and began screaming her concerns to the entire flight as they finished boarding. After the incident Coulter was taken in for questioning because violating the instructions of flight attendants is a federal offense.

OKLAHOMA- A 14 year-old boy with autism was checked into the Rose rock treatment facility last week and has mysteriously died. The full details about how Joseph Winters died are unknown. His mother dropped him off at the facility so that he could work with autism specialists. The family was told that he may need to be restrained by staffers. During the time he was restrained he stopped breathing. The Medical Examiner has not determined the cause of death.

MICHIGAN– The search for Dynasty Myles, a 23 year-oldDetroitmother who disappeared on New Year’s Day was found dead in an abandoned hose onDetroit’s Westside. She went missing after she dropped her 6 year-old daughter with her father and stepmother. Myles called around 9 P.M. that night and was expected to stop by to drop off some clothes for her daughter. Her car was found in the parking lot of Benihana, where she worked inDearborn.

SOUTH AFRICA– The gang rape and murder of a 17 year-old girl has triggered a lot of outrage from politicians and calls for widespread protests. Anene Booysen was reportedly lured away from her friends and raped by a group of men. She was badly mutilated, left for dead on a building site in the town ofBredasorpand found by a security guard last week. Before she died, Booysen identified one of her attackers as her former boyfriend.

ISRAEL– A recent report reveals that African women immigrating toIsraelwere subjected to mandatory contraceptive injections, which amounts to forced sterilization.

Roughly130,000 Ethiopians, most of whom are Jewish, live inIsrael. According to an investigative report on the Israel Educational TV program, “Vacuum,” Ethiopian women immigrating toIsraeleight years ago were told they would not be allowed into the country without agreeing to be injected with a long-acting birth control drug, Depo Provera. In the past decade, the birth rate among Ethiopian- Israelis has declined by at least 20 percent. Advocacy groups now claim this decline is the result of a birth control regimen forced upon Ethiopian immigrant women.
