A Spiritual Mind in 2013 Part III

Ooowee!

The Spirit of the Lord was in the house this past Sunday, as I preached Part III of a Spiritual Mind. In last week’s Bishop Speaks column, I spoke about two individuals and showed the difference between a Spiritual Mind and our own, Earthly way of thinking.

Something I tell the faithful sometimes at Worship Service on Sundays: “After the Worship comes the Service.” What service you ask? The Service of putting into practice what we learned at the Worship Service, through the Power of God, learned from the Word of God. Amen!

If you didn’t read last week’s Bishop Speaks column, please get on your computer and go to www.callandpost.com and catch up to this point, part III, which I will continue this last Sunday of this month.

Ok, let’s go to the Word of God for direction and the foundation of truth. Turn your bible to Proverbs 3:5, 6 as it reads, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do and he will show you the right way.”

What I love about the Lord as he speaks to us through his WORD is that he gives the answer to the question. Let me break it down, if I may. If we simply trust in the Lord with all our heart, mind and spirit and not try and think, we have the answer to everything, everybody and every situation we encounter in life, and when we doubt, yet trust him and include him in all we do, it’s then when we “STAND STILL and WAIT for his Answer that he will show us the right way.”

Ooowee! If you didn’t understand what I just said, simply read it over again.

Now here is the first problem you might encounter. Go with me once again to the Word of God and it reads, in Proverbs 21:2, “You may think everything you do is right but remember that the Lord judges your motives.”

When going to the Lord for directions, and about any situation in life, make sure that your motives are right and pure. Are you looking for personal gain or spiritual gain?

Let me break it down to you, if I may, once again. Why should we go to church and give God the praise on Sundays, or, for some, maybe another day? We go to WORSHIP and Praise HIM for he’s done – and continues to do – great things. At my church, In Touch for Christ, it’s a Court Community Agency where individuals, instead of going to jail, maybe even prison, they come and work off their sentence, which also may include their fines, which they cannot pay to the court. They come to clean the lot outside of the church, mop inside the church and clean, but now, after a few years of having the Community Service workers come on Sundays, I’ve selected a weekday, instead, and encourage them to come on their own or go to somebody’s church to worship God on Sundays.

But here’s the problem...

Many will remain home, in bed, and go nowhere instead on Sunday. What was their only motive to come to the church on Sundays in the first place? To do their Community Service work, which is, for us as Christians, really the wrong motive. Read Proverbs 21:2 once again.

What’s a “Spiritual Mind” which I covered this past Sunday? Ok, turn your bible to Matthew 4:1 where it starts. In Jesus earthly form meaning on earth in a human body he showed us how to deal with Satan. Verse 2 of chapter 4 of Matthew states, “After spending forty days and nights without food, Jesus was hungry.” What do you think happened when dealing with physical hunger to Jesus? Satan came and began to start the temptation toward the Son of God. Ooowee! It’s when we’re hungry for a meal, sad and depressed, broke, busted and disgusted, unemployed, going through marriage or relationship problems, or issues with our health, that Satan will Show Up to hope to try and make us show-out in a negative way! But how did Jesus handle Satan? THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD!

Once Satan realized Jesus was hungry he said to Jesus (Matthew 4:3), “Then the devil came to him and said, “If you are God’s son, order these stones to turn into bread. Verse 4, But Jesus answered, The Scripture says, “Human beings cannot live on bread alone, but need every WORD that God speaks.” Ooowee! Not on sex, money, your title, what you have in material things, your ego, BUT EVERY WORD THAT GOD SPEAKS!

A Spiritual MIND refers to the Spiritual Word when living in a physical body, housing a Spiritual Power, called the Holy Ghost. Ooowee!

See you this Sunday, 11a.m, at InTouch for the last part of a Spiritual Mind in 2013. Ooowee!
