Bishop Speaks Week of 6-15-2011

b_speaks_web_2You’re so powerful and on point as your article on “Sagging Pants” is the talk of Cleveland on different radio talk shows and the talk of many individuals who just don’t care for the sagging pants look.

Those Sagging Pants... Scandelous!

“How low can you go?” The letters keep coming...

Bishop Moultry:

You’re so powerful and on point as your article on “Sagging Pants” is the talk of Cleveland on different radio talk shows and the talk of many individuals who just don’t care for the sagging pants look.

I’m the mother of two teenage boys and I made them both sit down and read your first article on sagging pants and the letter the inmate wrote you last week who just was released from prison after serving thirteen years.

Bishop, after reading what he said, both of my sons are still wearing their pants below their butt and both wear a belt that hugs the bottom of their butt. They’ve read the facts of where the sagging pants started and both are still sagging. When meeting many of their friends who come over to play basketball in the backyard, I stand in the kitchen looking and laughing so hard as they try and toss the ball in the basket often missing for trying to pull up their pants at the same time.

What I do know, bishop, is that all of my sons’ friends like my sons have no male role model in the life. I don’t know if this is an excuse but something’s wrong, bishop, with this picture.

I can’t wait for part III on sagging pants and thanks so much, bishop, for keeping it real.

Bishop Moultry:

I wear my pants sagging and I see no problem with it. I really don’t know what’s the big deal, bishop. And, now that I know it makes people angry, I’ve pulled my pants down a little more. I’m not gay but, for me, it’s a fashion statement. It’s the style, the look, the expression of youth of today.

My mother made me read your article on sagging pants and told me to pull my pants up and that I need to grow up. I pull my pants up before going into the house so I won’t hear her mouth but, when I’m not home, I pull them down. I’m e-mailing you from the library and just want to tell you and anybody else that if you don’t like the youth sagging than close your eyes when you see it.

My mother says you keep it real so I’m keeping it real too.

Bishop:

I’m a twenty-one year old female and my boyfriend and I got into it and broke up last week after I told him that he can’t be walking down the street with me with his pants below his butt anymore. He told me that’s how he was when he met me and I told him that’s how he’ll be when I leave him. I would have never thought I’d leave a guy over something like this.

Bishop he wears his pants almost at his knees and he has on a belt. He walks looking like a fool bishop. When I met him, he just sagged a little but he’s gone crazy with it since the weather has got hot. He thinks it is sexy showing his butt while I think it’s not. I asked him what he gets out of it and he said, “It’s his expression of him.” What broke us up was when I said, “Well you are a asshole so show it.”

I know that was not nice for me to say but that’s how I felt.

I want to say to all the guys sagging that to many of us females it’s not sexy and, in the back of our minds, we’re wondering if you’re gay or bisexual walking around showing your butt.

Thanks bishop and I look forward to Part III of sagging pants.
