Pastor Jawanza Colvin and The Keepers of Faith, Hope and Heritage Ministry of the Olivet Institutional Baptist Church in traveling to Turkey on the Journeys of the Apostle Paul, July 23rd through August 4, 2012. This sacred destination pilgrimage will begin in Antioch at the site of the first Christian church and continue through Ephesus and the cities of Asia Minor where Paul preached the gospel to the Gentiles. Tarsus, Laodicea, Thyatira, Troy and Istanbul are just a few of the cities we will visit on our journey. Detailed below are some highlights of the scheduled activities:

Antakya Archeological Museum at Antioch where Paul was commissioned by the first church;

•   The Grotto of St. Peter, one of the earliest Christian houses of worship;

•   Tarsus, the hometown of the Apostle Paul and learning center of the ancient world;

•    2nd century paved city street along with a colonnaded podium and remains of Roman theater near where Paul and Barnabas fled to Derbe (2 Timothy 3:11);

•    Antioch of Pisidi, the Roman colony where Paul preached on his first journey;

•    Ephesus, the well preserved ancient city of Christian significance and focus of one epistle;

•    From the home of Lydia, maker of purple cloth, to the capital city of Pergamum;

•    Alexander Troas, the harbor where Paul sailed to Philippi; and

•    Istanbul, Turkey, capital of the ancient Eastern Roman Empire and home of St. Sophia Christian

Time is of the essence. So don't miss the opportunity to witness the wonders of this Sacred Destination with the Olivet Institutional Baptist Church family and Pastor Jawanza Colvin.
