The City of Hope is a new church located at 1486 East 55th Street, a little pass Superior, in the Lion of Judah Church. Rev. Benjamin M. Curry is the founder and pastor.

If you get a chance stop by and visit the City of Hope services because I found them to be spirit filled. It’s been coined a place to be redeemed, refreshed and to have your life restored.

Pastor Curry believes in doing things decent, in order, and Godly is a way of life. His vibrant and liveliness insists on that standard in all areas of his ministry. Recognized for his matter-of-fact revelation and humorous, pragmatic and storytelling approach, Curry has a down-to-earth quality that encourages people from all walks of life to open their hearts to Christ.

If you ever have read Ephesians 4:12-14 you will understand there are 2 kinds of church communities. City of Hope is one that is building. It’s the type of church that will offer help to those not only in the church but in the community.

Curry accepted Christ at the age of eight years old under the leadership of his father, Rev. Dr. Ernest Curry. Curry had a divine calling upon his life and accepted this calling at the tender age of 12. He has been preaching all across the United States spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in many pulpits such as Dr. Clay Evans, Rev. C. L. Franklin, Rev. Oris Mays, the National Baptist Convention and many others.

On March 1, 2012 Curry celebrated 28 years of preaching and teaching God’s Word.

Education has been one of his most important aspects in life. In addition to his ministry accomplishments in the pulpit, Curry has served as a member of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Drug Czar Member and Board Member affiliated with Inc., that was adopted by former President Bill Clinton, member of the 33rd degree Shiners just to name a few.

He has also been recognized for his works by receiving a key to the cities of Cleveland, Mississippi and Murray, Kentucky. Curry came to Cleveland to pastor one of city’s finest church families, The Star of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

In his words, a great church family whom he loves and have great respect served almost 6 years as pastor. Clearly working through God, Curry feels God had another assignment for him here in Cleveland.

Being obedient to what he believed the City of Hope Church was birthed and now serving, he is the senior pastor and founder is this great church.

Curry enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, and spending quality time with his family but, most of all spending time with the inner city youth, young adults and senior care ministries. Family has always been an important part of Curry’s life. Curry and his wife, Felicia, have been joined for 20 years in marriage and have three wonderful blessings, Mareisha, Mardriquez, and Benicia.

The City of Hope Church is a place to hear some great preaching. Curry no doubt can deliver the word straight from the Bible. He shared with his members not to be caught in the “pit’ but to walk by faith.

I believe City ofHope Churchwill walk in truth even if others don’t. I don’t believe God wants us to just blindly go along with all things in the church. We must prove all things. As David said, ‘Is there not a cause,’ so must the cause move us to stand?
