Cleveland Browns Marcus Benard pleads not guilty in motorcycle crash.

Browns defensive lineman Marcus Benard entered a plea of not guilty to charges stemming from his motorcycle crash last week.

He entered the plea through a fax from his attorney Tuesday morning.

Benard was cited for reckless operation and driving with a suspended license after the crash on Interstate 71 on Oct. 10.

Benard suffered a broken hand in the crash and was thrown about 240 feet from his motorcycle after it collided with a guardrail, according to the police report.

A witness told police that Benard crossed all four lanes of traffic and was speeding, before he lost control and hit the guardrail, the report said.

After the crash, Benard was placed on injured reserve by the Browns and will miss the rest of the season.
