Construction for the project will begin this spring and is scheduled to be complete by the start of the 2012 football season.

In a continued effort to further support youth football, the Cleveland Browns will contribute $250,000 towards the construction of a new synthetic turf football field for the Berea City School District (BCSD) through a grant awarded by the NFL Youth Football Fund.

Located behindRoehmMiddle SchoolonBagley Road, the field will represent Phase One of a large-scale sports facility initiative being created by the school district. In addition to the Browns and BCSD, the City ofBereahas also made a financial contribution to this project.

The state of the art field will be used by the school district throughout the year. Additionally, the Lou Groza Football League, which was created in 2010 and is based out ofBerea, will utilize the venue as its primary field for practices and games. The new field will be named in Groza’s honor. The field will also serve as a resource for the Browns to conduct additional youth football programs during the summer and fall months.

The NFL Youth Football Fund (YFF) seeks to use football as a catalyst to promote positive youth development, support youth and high school football nationwide and ensure the health of football in future generations.
