In the last pre season game for 2012 the Cleveland Browns lost 28-20 to the Chicago Bears at Cleveland Stadium Thursday Night. With Colt McCoy and Seneca Wallace both having decent games who will be the Browns number two quarterback?
“I think all three quarterbacks played like back-ups tonight. I’ll just leave it at that. I don’t know if that answers your question. I could see a lot of different scenarios,” said Browns coach Pat Shurmur.
With today being the cut for some, it will be a little easier this year for Coach Shurmur. “I know the players a lot better, I really do. I think we’ve made progress in terms of re-shaping our roster, I really believe that. I watched a lot of young men in there that I got to know a lot better, compete very hard, that I know aren’t going to make it. That’s the emotional part of it. We are responsible for a team and a city and we have got to put the best 53 guys out there based on the information that we have. That’s the reality of it,” said Shurmur.
Running Back Brandon Jackson again this week proved he needs to be a Cleveland Brown. With the number one pick Trent Richardson out,Jacksonhas been explosive. “Well, I’m running for a spot on this team. I was always running for a spot on this team and, like I said last before last week, I just want to move the chains. I want to get my offensive team going, and just move the ball and get a first down,” saidJackson.
The Browns will open their season on September 9, at home against the Philadelphia Eagles at 1 p.m.
