Cavs rookie Kyrie Irving named MVP of the BBVA Rising Stars Game

act_kyrie_irvingKyrie Irving is making a name for himself in the NBA.

ORLANDO - Cleveland Cavaliers rookie point guard Kyrie Irving was named the Most Valuable Player of the BBVA Rising Stars Game on Friday night.

 

Irving lead Team Chuck, the team drafted by former NBA great Charles Barkley, to a 146-133 win over Team Shaq, the team drafted by four time NBA Champion Shaquille O'Neal.

 

Irving lead all scorers with 34 points and added nine assists. Irving shot a perfect of eight of eight from three point range.

 

Irving's fellow Cavalier rookie Tristan Thompson score 20 points for Team Shaq on ten of eleven shooting.

 

The game was the second event of NBA All-Star Weekend in Orlando, Florida.
