"I am proud of my team and what we went through this season. I would not have been able to achieve what I did on the court without the help of all my coaches and teammates," Wilson said.

Marquis Wilson named to All-Conference 1st team; Anton Hutchins to 2nd team

The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference has named Cincinnati State sophomore guard Marquis Wilson to the All-Conference Men’s Basketball 1st team for the 2011-12 season.

Sophomore forward Anton Hutchins earned All-Conference 2nd team honors.

In addition to Wilson and Hutchins, freshmen Thomas Jackson and Cody Martin earned OCCAC Honorable Mention honors and will be the key members of head coach Andre Tate's 2013 class of returning sophomores.

In conference play this season, Wilson averaged a team-high 17.4 points, 3.5 assists and 3.4 steals per game. For the season, he averaged 15.8 points, 3.7 assists and 4.6 steals per game, which ranked second among all junior college players in the category.

Hutchins, who transferred from South Plains Community College, provided a legitimate scoring presence from the wing. Hutchins averaged 15.3 points and 5.4 rebounds in conference play. In a January game against Columbus State, he scored a season-high 38 points. For the season, Hutchins averaged 14.5 points and 5 rebounds per game.

With Cincinnati State's season coming to an end earlier this week in the first round of the regional tournament, Wilson and Hutchins have turned their focus toward maintaining their academic progress and reviewing four-year institutions with an eye toward future plans. Both players are expected to commit to Div. II programs in the weeks ahead.
