I will be focusing more on the defense, linbackers, defensive ends and defensive backs, and will have more to say in my next report, see you next week. Go Browns!
Dear Browns fans, not much has changed in Browns Camp as far as talent evaluations go.
A starting quarterback was named, Brandon Weeden over Colt McCoy. I feel for Colt, his hopes was that a couple of preseason games would be played and a decision would then be made as to the starter. Obviously, when the browns drafted Weeden, that decision was already made. We haven’t heard the last of this situation.
Trent Richardson is having surgery to correct his sore left knee. Having had surgery on my right knee, I remember that two-a-days made my knee very sore after surgery. I had a calcium build-up and they physically bent my knee closed. It was extremely painful but it did the trick for me. Richardson could be back in a week or two (hopefully).
Let's focus on the backups in Trent’s Absence. There are three or four young backs that should take advantage of this opportunity. Chris Ogbonnaya, Brandon Jackson, Montario Hardesty, along with several fullbacks, look forward to the game and I hope these guys get some playing time.
You know that good teams are no different from any other team in regards to injury. You are only as good as the 11 guys you put on the field. The season hasn't even started and now the browns are having trouble with staying healthy at linebacker and running back. We will be missing our starting corner back, for other reasons, but it still adds up to three players that you were going to count own, that are not there.
Also, pay attention to our receivers. We have quite a few in camp and all look good. I’m keeping my eye on Greg Little, Bert Reed and Josh Gordon – who is from my home town. I just found this out about Gordon. I’m real familiar with Houston Texas football players! His stock just went up with me.
