The renowned Rev. Dr. E. Theophlius Caviness hosted the 15th annual Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) Scholarship dinner on the anniversary of what would have been Dr. Martin Luther King 87th Birthday on Jan. 15.

It was an evening that would have undoubtedly made the famed civil righters leader proud would have made Dr. King proud.

The presence of young people and their participation addressed Dr. King’s educational vision, and the involvement of the Community personified Dr. King’s dream.

The (SCLC), Cleveland Chapter's Mission continues to strive toward the fulfillment of Dr. King's Dream. The Audacity to Have Hope During Hopeless Times!

The SCLC helped a young lady; Diana Parks and her daughter continue to be the subject of many uneventful circumstances during the holiday season. Her appearance at the event brought passionate emotion from the group, which decided to help the woman and her child.

Dr. King’s mission was to help the poor. The SCLC believes it accomplished just that.

The event included a dinner and awards ceremony and was attended by many of Cleveland’s most influential leaders.
