Last Wednesday, Pizza Hut returned to East Cleveland after nearly 20 years.

Pizza Hut opens it doors in the East Cleveland Plaza for carry out only.

East Cleveland Mayor Gary Norton along with other East Cleveland Council cut the ribbon with Pizza Hut's owner Charles Williams, Pizza Hut's Area Coach Rufinda Scott Rudie, Area Coach Rupesh Josh and Mike Carrier.

"It is great to have Pizza Hut back in our community," said Norton. "Maybe will have their other stores in our area too."

The grand opening included a visit from Santa Clause, free food and books and supplies for the students.

Rudie says having the return of Pizza Hut to the East Cleveland helps the community. "We hired 25 residents that lives in East Cleveland. And we blessed 98 children with give aways with books. We also impact children to read with our book program. We implement it in the schools we give a personal pan when they read a certain amount of books. Education is important to the Pizza Hut's family".

For now, Pizza Hut will remain a carry-out only.
