A journey to greatness

“God is within her so she will not fail.” Psalm 46:5

My name is Asiaonna Eley and I am a 22 year old senior at Central State University, majoring in Education, and I am the CEO and Founder of Fearless Faces LLC. Fearless Faces is a brand promoting self worth,self-affirmation,and love in all women. The mission of Fearless Faces LLC is to create products that model and remind women of all kind the love and beauty God has instilled in us, in addition to our skill and talent of beauty enhancement. Fearless Faces conveys that every woman is beautiful and should be herself, fearlessly.

As a young African American woman, from Cleveland,Ohio I’ve ran into more closed doors than open but I never let that stop me. I’ve experienced self doubt, depression, worthlessness, and overall feeling beneath instead of above. In 2017, after experiencing a puppy love heartbreak I felt like I had lost myself and hit “rock bottom”. At the time I was missing and failing classes, being distant, and overall I wasn’t myself. At that moment, I knew it was time to make some changes and gain Asiaonna back.

In May 2017, I reached out to one of my favorite beauty mogul’s Tamia Hopson, who at the time had just started her own cosmetics line called Alter Ego Cosmetics which is now rebranded and trademarked as Zhane Beauty Collection.Tamia is someone I looked up to because we both happen to be from Cleveland. She helped me and encouraged me and also provided me with beauty and business tips. On July 17,2017 Fearless Faces LLC was made official as a business through the State of Ohio. I was particular in getting my business in effect on this date because “7” is the number of completion and blessings which is exactly what I wanted my business to exemplify. At that moment, my journey began and I was now fearless and unstoppable.I was now ready to transform myself into the best fearless woman that I could be. I started my Fearless Faces Studio which is located in my 2-bedroom apartment in Xenia,Ohio where all my clients can come and be dolled up. Not long after starting my business I began to get myself together in school as well and became more focused. I became the Ohio Student Education Association Southwest Regional Representative ,as well as the Central State Education Association President. To continue my path of purpose, I started my journey as a facilitator for Womanhood Wednesday on my college campus. For the remaining of that year leading into 2018, as I held these positions I also searched for cosmetic vendors, all while learning the ins and outs of running a business while remaining a full time student.

At the end of 2018, life hit me a little harder and I thought it would change my life forever. On December 7,2018 I received the news that my mother had breast cancer.I now had to take off a few weeks of school and work to tend to my other and sister. I knew this was just a test and I had to remain fearless and be strong for my mother and sister. With everything going on,I still managed to finish the semester with a 3.65 GPA as well as receiving an internship through Children’s Defense Fund:Freedom Schools as the Site Coordinator where I will be overseeing the entire camp. By staying focused as a CEO, on February 27,2019 over a month after my mom had her mastectomy she is now cancer free and I was able to dedicate my first cosmetics line to her which is “The Divine Diamond Collection” by Fearless Faces Cosmetics. This line has a 18 colored eyeshadow palette as well as 7 styles of 3D Mink Lashes. I was able to watch my dreams turn into a reality. I’m not rich, but I am a blessed young college student, chasing her dream, being fearless! I have the honor to have my my mother, sister, grandmother, father, and business partner Ah’Realle Mitchell, who happens to be bestfriend by my side who has been there every step of the way cheering me on. I tell my story to let every young woman know she to is fearless and she has the ability to be and do whatever her heart desires.

My goals for Fearless Faces are big! As a Makeup Artist my dream is to slay for wonderful women such as Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, and Taraji P.Henson just to name a few! I have dreams of opening a Cosmetic Store promoting Black Owned Cosmetics. I hope to one day be like Wuzzam Supa ( Supa Cent) selling out of black-owned cosmetics in under 3 minutes. I know I am blessed and highly favored and my time is coming because “ I am Me. I am She. Who God has created her to be, Fearlessly.”
