Hit-Skip on Miles Avenue leaves Ayana Barkley in Critical Condition
Cleveland Police is investigating after a 26-year-old single mother was hit around 2:00am Saturday morning, September 28, 2019 leaving her critically injured. Reported by her father Michael Barkley, Ayana was leaving Poochie’s Deli located in the 11900 block of Miles Ave., on the East Side of Cleveland, and was hit by a car. A woman told Ayana’a father people were drag racing down Miles Ave., before they hit his daughter, dragging her.
Reports state that Ayana suffered multiple broken bones including her pelvis, hip, legs, feet and possible amputation of her foot and is in care of University Hospitals. Sources state she was starting a new job as a nurse, due to these tragic circumstances those plans are changed.
The driver never stopped. The police are in search of the vehicle described as silver, a Ford Explorer with a non-factory grill, possibly customized. Crime Stoppers are offering a $2500.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver. The tip-line number is (216) 252-7463. I know that Ayana has suffered greatly and certainly, our prayers are for her recovery, her child and a praying family.
