The Browns are turning to a young but familiar face to help turn around their fortunes.

Former Cleveland executive Andrew Berry will return after a year with the Eagles to be its general manager and executive VP, the team announced on Tuesday.

Football is known to be a rough and tumble sport. Confrontations between coaches and referees, over play calls and altercations between players occur from time to time. CAREER DAY FOR REBELS...Rufus Hamm (#19) and Johnny Cullins had a field day against John F. Kennedy. Hamm, quarterback, threw for a school-record 507 yards. He was nine for 12 with 4 touchdowns. Cullins caught three of those touchdowns for 237 yards. He had touchdown receptions of 67, 75 and 95 yards. Coach Gary Jackson believes that 237 yards might be a school-record too. Week 3 of the high school football season one might call it “Judgment Day” as big games, big rivals and big storms embraced northeast Ohio.

St. Ignatius battled four-time defending champions Archbishop Hoban. Euclid took on Canton McKinley. Medina and Wadsworth had a huge war. Cleveland Heights settled and on rivalry and storms cancelled many games the next day.

Week 1 of a very exciting high school football season has come and gone. Euclid edge Glenville, Solon toppled Hudson and Beachwood getting past rival Orange is some of the many explosive games.

On Thursday, the opening night Mentor rallied to get past to beat St. Edward 29-28. Lima Senior and Lima Central Catholic had probably the best game of that night. Lima Senior Spartans beat the Thunderbirds 49-45.
